Quilt Top Preparation

All the quilting is done by the computer-guide program on my Handi Quilter Fusion.

Please make sure that your top is squared, trimmed of loose threads, and has been given a good pressing, make sure to remove any puckers and lopsidedness from the uneven fabric.

Use a safety pin to mark the top center of the quilt. Do not pin or baste your quilt together as we will attach the three layers to different rollers on to the machine.

Quilt Backing Preparation

Make sure the bottom fabric is pressed thoroughly ensure the large wrinkles are removed from being permanently quilted into the back.

Important: It is necessary that the backing fabric is 5-8 inches larger than the top. The extra fabric holds the tension properly so the quilt will look its best. This simply means the backing fabric needs to be to be 5 or more inches larger on all sides of the quilt top.

Thread

Like many machines, my longarm runs best with one or two certain brands of cone threads. Therefore you do not need to bring your own threads. I have many options of Glide threads and we can always order a specific color for you at no additional charge!
